Hurricane Soccer Opens 2005 Season Sunday Against Monmouth

Aug. 27, 2005

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s soccer team will kick off the 2005 season Sunday afternoon taking on Monmouth at 12 noon in the season-opener at Cobb Stadium.

Fourth-year head coach Tricia Taliaferro and the Hurricanes welcome the season returning 12 letterwinners and 10 starters from a year ago as they begin their second season in the tradition-rich Atlantic Coast Conference.

Monmouth, who will face the Hurricanes for the first time in school history, opened their season Friday afternoon, falling to Florida Atlantic, 3-0, in Boca Raton.

Tickets for Sunday’s game, as well as all UM home games, are just $5 dollars for adults and $3 dollars for children and senior citizens. All UM students receive free admission to home games with a valid Cane Card.

For ticket information, please visit the Official Website of Hurricane Athletics, www.hurricanesports.com, or call the Hurricane Ticket Office at 1-800-GO-CANES.
