Bradley, Banada Earn All-America Honors

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – Miami senior Megan Bradley and sophomore Audrey Banada earned All-America honors after being named the No. 3 seed in the upcoming NCAA doubles championship. Bradley was also named All-American in singles for the third time in her career after being awarded the No. 1 seed in NCAA singles championship. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
The top-16 seeds in singles and the top-eight seeds in doubles are designated All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the governing body of collegiate tennis.
This is the first All-American honor for Banada and the fourth and fifth for Bradley who was named All-American in both singles and doubles as a freshman at UCLA and then again in singles as a junior at Miami.
Together the Bradley/Banada duo, ranked third nationally, has compiled a 25-2 overall record while registering a 16-1 mark in dual-match play. Miami’s top tandem has defeated seven ranked opponents and has been ranked as high as No. 2 in the ITA doubles rankings.
Bradley has amassed an impressive 42-1 overall mark–a UM single-season record–and has gone 23-0 in the dual-match season. After her first and only loss of the season, Bradley has strung together a 37-match win streak, which includes victories over 14 ranked opponents.
Bradley, the reigning ITA National Indoor Champion has been the top-ranked single player for ten-consecutive weeks.
The NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship will take place May 23-28, after the team championship, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens.
