Hurricanes Open Inaugural ACC Match with Virginia Tech

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – First-year head coach Mario Rincon and the 56th-ranked Hurricanes will take on Virginia Tech in their inaugural ACC debut Sunday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
The Hurricanes (7-1) will face-off with fellow ACC newcomers Virginia Tech (6-4) – both were members of the BIG EAST prior to joining the ACC in the summer of 2004 – having won six-straight.
UM’s lone loss of the season came Feb. 4 at the hands of No. 3 Florida.
Miami’s lineup boasts two players in junior classmates Tim Krebs and Eric Hechtman, who have yet to lose a dual match this season.
Both enter Sunday with an overall record of 7-0 this spring with Krebs playing at the No. 1 and No. 2 position and Hechtman seeing most of his action at No. 3.
Sophomore Josh Cohen – ranked 54th nationally in singles – is 5-2 on the year and freshman Vivek Subramanian has posted an overall record of 5-1 in dual play.
Fans are invited out for FREE PIZZA Sunday as the Hurricanes and Hokies square off. Admission is free to students and the general public.
