University of Miami and WQAM Sign New Contract

Coral Gables, Fla. (www. hurricanesports.com) – – The University of Miami and WQAM Radio (560am) jointly announced today an extension of their radio agreement. The agreement gives WQAM exclusive English language radio rights in the South Florida market for the next three years–through the 2007-2008 athletic year.
“We are pleased that the University of Miami’s sports programming will continue for an additional three years on WQAM,” said UM Director of Athletics Paul Dee. “Our relationship with WQAM in the past has been very good and we look forward to continuing that association.”
WQAM’s Hurricanes programming consists of football, men’s basketball and baseball games as well as the weekly “Hurricane Hotline” which airs throughout the length of the sports’ season.
“We are thrilled with our relationship with the University of Miami,” commented Greg Reed, Vice President and General Manager of WQAM. “The Miami Hurricanes help drive our success as we continue to be the leader for sports in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale market.”
