Miami Wide Outs Stepping Up

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The third-ranked Miami football team practiced for two hours Wednesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields in its last full contact day of practice in preparation for Saturday’s nationally televised game on ESPN at North Carolina State.

“I was concerned about the weather and possible storms,” Miami head coach Larry Coker said. “It was our last really physical day and, of course, we will have a good mental day tomorrow and then go to Raleigh on Friday.”

The Miami wideouts had their best game of the season a week ago against Louisville, and the return of Sinorice Moss should only help the Hurricanes’ effort against the Wolfpack.

“Sinorice looked very good today,” Coker said. “That was tremendously encouraging because that (Moss looking so good after the injury) really surprises me a little. Not that he has made the recovery, but that he has practiced at full speed, both yesterday and today.”

Coker is still undecided on his starting wide receiver corps for Saturday’s game at North Carolina State. “No, I’ll have to have a vision,” he quipped. Coker did expect to start Roscoe Parrish at one spot and decide between Darnell Jenkins and Lance Leggett for the other spot.

The Hurricanes return to the practice field on Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. workout.
