Michael Irvin Named to 2004 Broward County Sports Hall of Fame

Coral Gables, Fla. ( www.hurricanesports.com) — – These six members will be inducted into the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center located in Fort Lauderdale. The ceremony is presented by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau Sports Development Office.

“The level of commitment these six Broward County residents have shown for their respective sports and the recognition they have brought to the county through their achievements is the reason they were chosen,” said John Webb, vice president, sports development for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Broward County Sports Hall of Fame was established to honor and recognize coaches, athletes and pioneers who are or have been Broward County residents. The six inductees were nominated by Broward County residents and chosen by twelve local members of the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame Committee.

The gala to honor this year’s inductees to the Broward County Sports Hall of Fame begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and presentations at 7 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person or $500 for a table of 10.
