Hurricanes Square Off with Wake Forest

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team will travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to take on ACC rival Wake Forest Sunday afternoon at Spry Stadium at 1 p.m.
Head coach Tricia Taliaferro and the Hurricanes enter the match with an overall record of 2-7-0 with a 1-5-0 mark in ACC play after falling to No. 2 North Carolina 5-1 Thursday evening in Chapel Hill in their last outing.
Senior forward Britney Butcher scored the Hurricanes’ lone goal against the second-ranked Tar Heels, marking her second of the season. Butcher’s two goals on the year tie her with junior forward Lindsey Yach for the UM lead.
The Demon Deacons dropped a 1-0 decision to 17th-ranked Florida State Friday night to fall to 7-4-1 overall and 1-3-0 in conference play.
Sunday’s match with Wake Forest will mark Miami’s first meeting with the Demon Deacons.
