CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s soccer team will travel to the state of South Carolina for a match-up with ACC rival Clemson Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Riggs Field.

The Hurricanes head to Clemson with an overall record of 2-4-0 after downing Jacksonville 3-1 in their last outing September 21 to claim their second victory in as many matches. Prior to the win over the Dolphins, Miami claimed its first ACC win over the season over Maryland in a 2-1 decision September 19 in Coral Gables to improve to 1-2-0 in conference play.

The 15th-ranked Tigers currently hold a half game lead over UM for seventh place in the ACC standings, posting a 1-1-0 record in ACC matches with a 6-3-0 record overall.

Leading the Miami contingent are leading scorer, junior forward Lindsey Yach and sophomore midfielder Sheuneen Ta. Yach leads the Hurricanes with a pair of goals on the year, both of which came on penalty kicks, while Ta’s five shots on goal tops all UM players through six matches in 2004.

Clemson has out-shot opponents 21-8 through nine matches this season behind the play of senior forward Lindsay Browne, who leads the Tigers with five goals entering the match.

The meeting will mark the first between the two schools.
