No. 15 Miami Rolls Past UCF, 6-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 15-ranked Miami women’s tennis team remains perfect at home, beating Central Florida 6-1 Saturday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Hurricanes improve to 13-2 overall and 11-0 at home this season. UCF falls to 8-7 on the season. UM leads the all-time series 5-0 over the Golden Knights.
Miami won two-of-three doubles matches with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. No. 22 Melissa Applebaum (Coral Gables, Fla.) and Megan Bradley (Columbia, Mo.) rolled past Amira Samara and Ola Luczak 8-1 at the No. 1 spot.
Sara Robbins (Tuscon, Ariz.) and Staci Stevens (Hammond, La.) clinched the doubles point with an 8-4 win over Anna Westin and Kristina Lohmos at the No. 2 spot.
No. 4 Bradley earned her 14th win of the season as Westin retired early in the first set due to injury.
Miami was quickly up 3-0 in the match as Stevens blew past Luczak 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles.
Sihem Bennacer (Algires, Algeria) clinched the win for Miami with a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Samara at No. 6 singles.
Audrey Banada (North Miami Beach, Fla.) remains perfect on the season at 14-0 with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Megan Hunter at No. 5 singles.
Toro won the first set 7-5 and was up 4-2 in the second when Pam Fernandez retired at No. 3 singles.
The Hurricanes return to action Sunday, April 4 facing BIG EAST rival Notre Dame at Noon in South Bend, Ind.
