SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) – Tamara James had 26 points, and all five startersreached double figures for No. 22 Miami in an 85-65 victory Wednesday nightover Syracuse.
Melissa Knight added 16 points for the Hurricanes (19-4, 8-4 Big East), whoalso got 13 from Chanivia Broussard, 11 from Yalonda McCormick and 10 fromShaquana Wilkins.
Julie McBride led the Orangewomen (6-17, 3-10) with 31 points to establish aSyracuse record for a career. McBride passed Felisha Legette’s 1,526 total, andfinished the game with 1,557.
The Hurricanes pressed the Orangewomen into a season-high 20 turnovers,including three straight during a 10-0 run in the first half. The run extendedMiami’s lead to 31-20, and Syracuse never got closer than nine pointsthereafter.
