CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami head football coach Larry Coker has announced the Hurricanes’ 2004 signees as 27 student-athletes signed letters of intent to play football for the Hurricanes on Wednesday. Traditionally a program that recruits heavily in South Florida while also scanning the nation for top talent, Miami stayed true to that tradition this year.

Feb. 5, 2004 Update
The University of Miami program has completed its 2004 recruiting class with this morning’s signing to a national letter of intent by Calais Campbell of Denver (Colo.) South High School. With Campbell’s signing, the Hurricanes’ 2004 list of signees now stands at 28 student-athletes who have signed letters of intent to play football for the Hurricanes.

With the approval of Campbell’s paperwork this morning, the Hurricanes had signed 13 players from the state of Florida and maintained its status as a national recruiter as the class was geographically diverse with signees from 10 different states and Canada. Four players from Texas, three players from Pennsylvania, and one player each from Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin have signed on to the Hurricanes football squad.
