Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The Hurricane basketball teams would like to invite all students to participate in the first ever Hurricane Force Student Challenge on Wednesday, November 5 from 6-8:30 PM at the University of Miami Convocation Center.

Students will have the chance to compete against the men’s and women’s basketball teams in four (4) different aspects of the game: dribbling, free throw shooting, three-point shooting, and slam-dunking.

All students will also have the opportunity to join the free Hurricane Force Reward Program, which has been created by the Category 5 student organization. As part of this program, all Hurricane Force members will receive an official Force t-shirt and reward card.

Each time the Force member attends a Hurricane basketball game, s/he will receive a stamp on their Force card. As stamps accumulate, the member will receive free rewards such as retail discounts and food products, which were provided by Hurricane corporate sponsors. In addition, if the Force member reaches a designated stamp level, s/he will become eligible for several grand prizes including hotel stays and round-trip airline tickets.

Category 5 selected Hurricane Force as the new name for the student section because of its association to strong, powerful storms that arise throughout South Florida including Miami Hurricane Athletic events
