Slade Miller, Southside, Alabama : I will be watching the game at friends house in Gadsden, Alabama celebrating my 27th birthday which is the next day, November 2nd. Go Canes! People : 10-15 Theme : Slade’s Miami vs. Virginia Tech birthday party! Go Canes beat Hokies! 14Other_Fun_Things : Everyone will be eating delicious food, probably pizza from Papa Johns. We will also be playing playstation in the next room in like a tournament format-winners play winners. We will have the game on in every room. My friends are having this for me because I am the biggest Cane fan and they thought it great to celebrate by gathering to watch Miami play Virginia Tech.

Odalys Penichet, Miami, 15 People;This will obviously be a UM themed party however, the food menu varies for each away game. During the FSU game, we had a Mexican theme. My kids swallowed those tacos pretending they where Seminoles…just like the Canes did!!!
This next get-together we are planning a “Canes Night in Havana”. Full fledged-Cuban theme. My husband and brother-in-law are through with tacos and hot dogs. We are planning a big feast of white rice, black beans, fried pork, and platanitos maduros (fried plantines).
I’m working on making some UM Guayaberas (Cuban style shirts)..I just don’t know how yet.
Other Fun Things : The girls will be dancing to Salsa music during commercials and the men (not the boys obviously) will be smoking cuban cigars. We will make Spanish mojitos to toast each Hurricane Touchdown!!!
The usual event of our UM evenings is my kids and nephews have a habit of running outside all around the house screaming each time the Hurricanes score. On occasion, my husband will get so excited that he runs outside with his belt loose (from eating) causing his pants to fall while he is running around with the kids.

I even stayed at the DEDHAM MASS.HILTON HOTEL WHERE THEY STAYED AND GOT TO MEET & GREET MANY OF THE PLAYERS. THEY WERE ALL VERY NICE. THE NICEST WAS JARED PAYTON. BOY AM I HAPPY FOR HIM. I TOLD HIM THAT I SAW HIS DADDY FROM LITTLE JACKSON STATE PLAY IN AN ALL STAR COLLEGE GAME MANY YEARS AGO AND COMPLETELY DOMINATE THE GAME. I’VE BEEN A HURRICANE FAN SINCE JIM KELLY AND BERNIE KOSAR ETC. : We dress up everyone’s dogs in jerseys -hang our Hurricane flag in front of the house (which always gets a response from our Texas / Oklahoma fan neighbors) It is very tough to be a Hurricane in Texas – where the big 12 reigns supreme and UT/Oklahoma think they RULE (and choke every year!!!)We will have armadillo races (canes vs. hokies) – a Texas tradition – Bobbing for hokie in the pool – as well as our ritual “burning at the stake” of the opposing team’s mascot – just before kickoff. After our victory our party will spill out onto the street for the benefit of all of the Oklahoma / Texas fans in the neighborhood – where we break out the karaoke for some YAMA YAMA YAMA
