Miami-Virginia Tech Football Game Set For 7:45 p.m. ET Kick

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – ESPN and the BIG EAST Conference announced today that the University of Miami’s football game with Virginia Tech University will be nationally televised on ESPN Saturday, November 1, beginning at 7:45 p.m. Eastern time in Blacksburg, Va.

The Hurricanes (6-0 this season, 2-0 in BIG EAST play) and Hokies (6-0; 2-0) are both ranked among the nation’s top 3 in the last national rankings. Miami maintains a No. 2 ranking it has held most of the season while the Hokies moved up to No. 3 in both major polls in the most recent rankings released Sunday. This game will mark the 21st football meeting between the two schools with Miami holding a 15-5 advantage in the series. Miami has won the last three meetings in the series, including the most recent contest, a 56-45 victory over the Hokies on Dec. 7, 2002, at the Orange Bowl in Miami.

Both teams have one game on their schedule prior to the anticipated showdown. Miami hosts Temple this Saturday at the Orange Bowl (12:05 p.m. ET kickoff, ESPN Regional TV) while Virginia Tech is off this Saturday before hosting West Virginia on Thursday, Oct. 22, in another ESPN-televised game.

Television plans have not been announced on Miami’s games versus Tennessee (Nov. 8 at the Orange Bowl), Syracuse (Nov. 15 at the Orange Bowl), or Rutgers (Nov. 22 at the Orange Bowl).
