Soccer Travels To The FSU Tournament

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami soccer team travels to Tallahassee, Fla. to participate in the Nike Seminole Classic hosted by Florida State. Miami will play FSU Friday at 7 p.m. before facing Jacksonville Sunday at 11 a.m.
Miami (4-3-0) enters the match with FSU on the winning path after shutting out Columbia 2-0 Sunday afternoon. The Hurricanes are 2-0 in tournament play so far this season, winning both matches in the FAU tournament Aug. 29 and 31.
The Seminoles (2-4-0) are also on the winning path beating San Diego State University 6-1 on Sunday. FSU will be looking for its first home win of the season after opening the season 0-2-0 at home.
FSU owns the slight advantage in the all-time series leading UM 3-2. The Seminoles are on a three-match winning streak over the Hurricanes, including a 2-1 win in Coral Gables, Fla. last season.
Sophomore Lindsey Yach (Carrollton, Texas) continues to lead the Hurricane offense with seven points on the season. Junior Britney Butcher (Bothell, Wash.) is second on the team with five points.
