CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami soccer team fell to visiting No. 12 West Virginia 3-1 Friday night at Cobb Stadium in a BIG EAST cross-divisional match.
The Hurricanes are 3-3-0 on the season while the Mountaineers improve to 4-1-0 overall.
Andrea Radice, a native of Hialeah, notched her first goal of the season at the 65:04 mark on a pass by Sheuneen Ta.
West Virginia scored three goals on 26 shots with Chrissie Abbot leading the way with two goals from Lisa Stoia, who also scored the unassisted game-winning goal at the 60 minute mark.
The Hurricanes took 12 total shots with eight on goal. UM freshman goalie Alex Alford made nine saves in 90 minutes of action.
Miami returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Columbia at Cobb Stadium.
