CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami soccer team remains perfect on the 2003 season beating Loyola 2-0 Sunday afternoon in the FAU tournament in Boca Raton, Fla.
Miami improves to 2-0 while Loyola falls to 0-2 on the season.
Junior Gitana Gotay (Sandy, Utah) scored an unassisted goal 34 minutes into the match to put the Hurricanes on top 1-0.
Sophomore Lindsey Yach (Carrollton, Texas) headed in the second goal at 71:44 on a cross from Jackie Garcia (Miami, Fla.).
Miami took 15 total shots while Loyola took nine.
Freshman Alex Alford (Atlanta, Ga.) played 90 minutes in goal for Miami making six saves while allowing no goals.
The Hurricanes host FAU in their home opener Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Cobb Stadium.
