Former UM Diver Takes Bronze at Pan Am Games

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Former University of Miami diver Kyle Prandi teamed with Mark Ruiz to win the bronze medal for Team USA in the men’s synchronized platform on Friday at the 2003 Pan Am Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Prandi and Ruiz paired to earn a score of 320.52 in the competition. Canada’s Alexandre Despatie and Philippe Comtois took the gold medal with a score of 340.44 and Mexico’s Fernando Platas and Rommel Pacheco earned silver posting a score of 327.09.

While at Miami, Prandi was a National Champion in the ten-meter platform and was selected as the BIG EAST Diver of the Year in 2001. Prandi was also a two-time All-American.
