UM Men's Tennis Falls To Georgia Tech

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The University of Miami men’s tennis team fell to Georgia Tech 5-2 Thursday night at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the Coral Gables campus.
First-singles player Todd Widom (Coral Springs, Fla.), who is ranked 18th among Division 1 collegiate players, rebounded from his second loss of the season with a convincing 6-0, 6-4 victory over No. 21-ranked Roger Anderson.
The Hurricanes’ only other win in singles play came from No. 86 Shauny Hoyes (Miami, Fla.), who defeated Fabio Campos 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles play, the Hurricanes lost the point, but Widom and partner Eric Hechtman (Miami, Fla.) defeated West Nott and Trevor McLeod 8-6.
The Hurricanes will look to bounce back Saturday when they host Clemson at 1 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
