UM Men's Tennis Falls to No. 1 Illinois

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (www.hurricanesports.com)- – The University of Miami men’s tennis team fell 7-0 to No.1-ranked Illinois Sunday in Champaign, Ill.
Depsite the loss, the Hurricanes received extraordinary play from doubles pairing Andrew Golub and Colin Purcell which defeated the No. 2-ranked doubles team Amer Delic and Michael Calkins 9-8 (4).
The loss was the second straight for the No. 32-ranked Hurricanes. Saturday, UM fell 4-3 to Indiana.
With the defeat, UM fell to 5-3 on the season.
In singles play, Colin Pucell (Louisville, Ky.) put up the toughest fight for the Hurricanes, pushing No. 60 Ryler DeHeart to three sets (6-4, 1-6, 6-3).
