– The Florida Fitz’s, Clearwater, FL to The Team and Coaches: 30 years from now, people will talk about you just like they do about the 83′ team now. In every single person (besides true cane fans), were thoughts that you would falter this season some how, some way. But you proved them all wrong. Champions you are! Period, end of story! Nobody can take it away now, and it is yours forever. God Bless!

Paymon Shokoohi, Memphis ,TN. to Ken Dorsey: First of all I’d like to congratulate you and the rest of the Canes in putting together 2 years of fantastic football. I also want to personally thank you for staying for your senior season and setting a good example for other underclassmen. You’re a good example on what the Canes football program is now compared to what it was a few years ago. I’ve been a Hurricane fan since I was 10 and I’ve had to sit through those probation seasons just like any other die hard fan, but it was worth it because this program has gained character from that and with us having players like you it made waiting worth it. I again just want to thank you and wish you good luck next year as we defend our title. Go Canes!

Tony Harris, Harrisburg, Pa to Coach Coker: I am glad that you and the team have won the National Championship and silenced all those whom said that Miami was all washed up and that they would never get back to a National Championship.

Raymond Hooft, Boise, Idaho to Vilma: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff Fennik, Miami, Fl to The Team: I’m proud to be a CANES fan. Congratulations on a great year.

Brooks Miller, Coral Gables, FL to All of them!: Way to go guys! It has been a great year. I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1984 when I was at UM and this is probably the proudest I’ve been of any team. GO CANES!

Steve Lay, M.D., Odessa, FL to 2001 Hurricane Football Team: Great job guys!! I am an alum who has been regularly attending games since 1982. You are without a doubt, the strongest team I have witnessed. I’m looking forward to 2002.

Cindy Lavery, Phoenix,Az. to All Players, Coaches & Fans: Again guys-Congratulations! Nat’l. Champs! I have made a shrine of all the memorabilia we brought back from Pasadena. Flags are flying all over the place! All my family & friends will be receiving orange & green for their birthdays this year! I just the commercial for Sports Illustrated. If you buy a subscription you get the Miami Hurricane Nat’l. Champ. Book etc. Well, I say true fans would never purchase anything from them! Boycott this ridiculous, hypocritical offer! If we weren’t good enough to have a football program, according to them, then forgettaboutit! I will never buy anything from them again. If they end up with a ton of these items left, then maybe it would make them think. They owe us an apology on the cover of their new issue! Resist!!!! Don’t buy it!!!!! We have a lot of PRIDE!!!!!

Dave Virga, Franklin, NC to Ken Dorsey: I am so glad that you didnt enter the draft this year. Because now we can go for a repeat as natinonal champions(it should be a 3-peat, if we didnt get screwed last year). But I just wanted to say I appreciate it and I think all Canes fans do to.

Ben Whitehead, Columbia, SC to Congrats!!: Congrats to The Canes for their great victory over the Huskers. Go Canes!!!

shela dye, casselberry/florida, TO THE 2001 NATIONAL CHAMPS & COACHES: You all played a GREAT and EXCITING 2001season. I enjoyed watching the Hurricanes when I attended UM and have enjoyed you even more over the years. You all are truly a TEAM with a statement!!!! The BEST EVER!! Can’t wait for the 2002 season to start. Congratulations on your PERFECT season-GO HURRICANES -THE 2001 NATIONAL CHAMPS

Dave Leval, Rock Island, IL to The Seniors: First, thanks from a longtime ‘Canes fan who has lived in Tallahassee and is now in Illinois for a great season, especially the seniors. You guys are the real heroes for sticking with the program during the down years. During the probation period, we only had “one” losing season! In less than five years, we were back on the national scene and finally winning it all. We ‘Canes fans owe you a lot. Thanks for your hard work and dedication!! Good luck in the your futures!!

Hurricane Bob, Largo, Florida to Clinton Portis: Clinton , as a selfish canefan I am sorry to see you go into NFL early as I thought you would defintely be preseason All American next year and continue to rewrite the Hurricane record books.Of course Largo is not to far from Gainesville , we are Bucs and Dolphin fans here so if you are drafted by some other NFL team we will always wish you the best and have a Healhty NFL career and we would have to root against your team should you come to town to play the Dolpins or Bucs.BUT! Always remember this,”You Will Always Be A Hurricane” and we true Cane Fans are very appreciative of everything you gave us in the time you were a Cane. Best to you and your family, and hopefully you will be wearing white/aqua or pewter/red.

Rafael Pereda, Hollywood, Fl to Team & Coaches: Good things come to those who wait. It’s been 10 years, but the long wait is over. You’re the best and from day one I knew that destiny was written in the stars. Congratulations!

Robert Harper, Cooper City, Florida to The Football Team and Najeh Davenport: My son Bryan and I were jumping for joy when the Rose Bowl was going on. It was tempered by the fact that Najeh Davenport was unable to play. He was so instrumental all year and we pray he gets better soon for the pros. All of you guys are tremendous and we enjoy watching you play. Bryan is 6″1′ and weighs 240lbs. He is 16 and plays for Cooper City High School. He has dreams of playing for UM. He is thinking about attending summer camp there at UM. God bless you all. You are our favorites. Repeat next year.

Rodney W. Davis, Sylva, North Carolina to Jeremey Shockey: I want you to know how much you’ve meant to the fans and to the program. Don’t forget about this family. You’re moving on and we’re behind you. Work hard and come back with the kids here after you’re at the next level. You’ll do great. Thank you and we’ll never forget the drive.
