CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami soccer team remains undefeated in BIG EAST play with a 2-1 win over visiting Providence Sunday afternoon at Cobb Stadium.

The Hurricanes currently on a three-match winning streak improve to 6-3-0 overall and 3-0-0 in BIG EAST play.

Providence falls to 3-3-2 overall and 0-2-0 in the conference.

The Friars scored just one minute into the match as Veronica Bakke connected on a pass from Maura Robertson to put PC up 1-0.

Allison McWhinney (Danvers, Mass.) tied the match one-all at 15:55 on a pass from Lindsey Yach (Carrollton, Texas).

The match was tied one-all at halftime. Yach scored the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute on a pass from Michelle Provenzano (Davie, Fla.).

The Hurricanes dominated the match taking 30 total shots, including 20 shots on goal. The Friars took seven shots only two on goal.

Miami goalie Rachel Elsby (Boca Raton, Fla.) played the entire match making one save and allowing one goal.

PC goalie Caitlin Pickul played 90 minutes making 18 saves and allowing two goals.

The Hurricanes take a break from BIG EAST action facing FIU Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
