Vonda Matthews Earns Preseason All-BIG EAST Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla.- University of Miami soccer player Vonda Matthews was selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST team announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

The junior from Broken Arrow, Okla. is a two-year starter for Miami and has been named to the All-BIG EAST team for the last two years.

Matthews was named to the SoccerBuzz All-Southeast Second Team, BIG EAST Second Team and the NSCAA All-Southeast Third Team as a defender.

She contributed offensively for the Hurricanes as she tallied six goals, three assists and 15 points last season.

The Miami soccer team was picked to finish fourth in the BIG EAST Northeast division.
