Davison Reaches Semis Of Three-Meter At World Cup

Sevilla, Spain – University of Miami diver Michelle Davison (Columbia, SC) finished 10th in the preliminaries of the 3-meter diving competition and has advanced to Friday’s semifinals at the 13th FINA Diving World Cup in Sevilla, Spain.

Davison, a three-time All-American and 2002 BIG EAST Diver of the Year, finished 10th in Wednesday’s finals of the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 239.85.

Davison is no stranger to international competition having competed for the United States at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney Australia.

On the men’s side, former UM diver Imre Lengyl (Budapest, Hungary) finished 20th in the 1-meter competition (291.18) and 21st in the 3-meter competition (341.97). Lengyl, who just completed his final year of eligibility, was a three-time All-American at Miami. As a senior in 2002 he won the NCAA championship in the 10-meter platform.

UM junior Kyle Prandi (Strongsville, OH) will begin competition on Friday in the 10-meter platform. Prandi, a four-time All-American, was the 2001 NCAA National Champion in the platform.
