Sara Robbins leads Canes on, off court

Sophomore Sara Robbins, a vital member of the women’s tennis team, has beenselected the March 2002 Academic All-Star after leading the Hurricanes onand off the court.

Robbins has achieved academic excellence in her Computer Information Systemsmajor. She has also attained great success in her first two years on thewomen’s tennis team. This past season, she posted a singles record of 18-12at the 5-6 spot and a doubles record of 16-14. Her first year at Miami, shewrapped up the fall season with a record of 4-3 in singles and 3-2 indoubles action.

A younger Robbins was Arizona State Champion and regional champion after anun defeated season in No. 1 singles and doubles her sophomore year at SantaRita High School. She was ranked No. 1 in Southwest rankings and No. 61 inthe USTA. She boasted No. 1 rankings in doubles in the Southwest for thelast three years and won the doubles championship at the National IndoorChampionship in St. Louis.
