No. 40 Men's Tennis Falls To No. 34 USF, 4-3

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 40-ranked Miami men’s tennis team fell, 4-3, to No. 34 South Florida in its final home match of the season Saturday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
Miami falls to 8-8 overall, while the Bulls improve to 13-3 on the season.
The Hurricanes swept through doubles play winning all three matches. Tomas Smid and Todd Widom beat Paco Antelo and Uli Kiendl, 8-5, at the No. 1 spot.
Joel Berman and Tarik El Bassiouni teamed up winning, 8-3, over Jorge Escallon and Nadim Naser at No. 2 doubles and Jose Lieberman and Andrew Golub downed Dan McCain and Eric Gildhorn, 8-3, at No. 3 doubles.
No. 16-ranked Widom beat McCain in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles.
El Bassiouni was the other singles winner for Miami with a three-set victory over Abhijit Shah, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, at No. 6 singles.
The Hurricanes are back in action Saturday traveling to face Clemson.
