No. 39 Men's Tennis Defeats No. 38 SMU, 5-2

DALLAS, Texas-The No. 39-ranked Miami men’s tennis team beat No. 38 SMU, 5-2, at Haggar Tennis Stadium in Dallas, Texas Saturday afternoon.
The Hurricanes improve to 5-4 overall, while the Mustangs fall to 6-8 on the year.
The Hurricanes jumped ahead early winning the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
The match was tied at one-all as Andrew McDade fell to Lukasz Senczyszyn in straight sets with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles.
Miami then went up 3-1 in the match, with wins from Tarik El Bassiouni and Tomas Smid at No. 5 and No. 2 singles.
SMU won the second point of the match as Jose Lieberman fell at No. 3 singles.
The No. 18-ranked freshman, Todd Widom clinched the win for Miami with a 7-6, 7-6 win over No. 31 Krystian Pfeiffer at No. 1 singles.
Joel Berman then won in three sets over Eric Cohn, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Miami wraps up its three-match road swing with No. 25 Texas A&M Monday at 1 p.m. CST in College Station.
