Women's Rowing Launches 2002 Season

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Under the direction of first-year Head Rowing Coach Debra Morgan, the University of Miami women’s rowing program puts its oars back in the water for the 2002 Spring Sprint Season. Along with coaches Cinda Ewton, Liz Payer and boatright Jim Mitchell, the varsity women look to have an impressive spring against top-flight competition.

This weekend’s scrimmages features match races against Michigan State on Friday and Boston College on Saturday. The scrimmages will take place on the Hurricanes’ home course on Indian Creek in Miami Beach (behind the Ron Shane Watersports Center).

The first race of the 2002 season will be against Syracuse on Indian Creek on Friday, March 15. The following weekend on Saturday, March 23, Miami will host Connecticut and West Virginia.
