No. 25 Women's Tennis upset by No. 44 Virginia Commonwealth, 5-2.

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The No. 25 University of Miami women’s tennis team 5-2 loss to No. 44 Virginia Commonwealth snaps their six-match winning streak Saturday, Feb. 23 at Richmond, VA.
The Rams improve to 5-1 with the upset, while the Hurricanes suffer their first loss of the season and fall to 6-1.
VCU won four of six singles matches and took the doubles point with two of three doubles victories en route to a 5-2 victory.
Senior Marcy Hora and freshman Ewelina Skaza recorded Miami’s only two singles wins of the afternoon.
Hora defeated Christina Gago in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 3 singles, while Skaza defeated Maria Rocio-Perez 6-2, 6-7 (8-6), 6-1 at the No. 5 spot.
Sihem Bennacer and Sara Robbins defeated Christina Gago and Maria Rocio-Perez, 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
The Hurricanes are back on the road to face William and Mary Sunday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Williamsburg, VA.
