LOS ANGELES – The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes completed their first full practice on Thursday in preparation for the Rose Bowl match-up against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on January 3. The team practiced in pads for 90 minutes at the Los Angeles Coliseum running complete offensive and defensive drills.

“It was a very physical practice,” said Miami head coach Larry Coker. “We had inside run, we had nine on nine offense vs. defense – a lot of good physical work and guys were making things happen.”

Offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie, the 2001 Outland Trophy winner, participated in practice and looked good according to Coker.

“You wouldn’t know he’d ever been injured,” said Coker. “What I like is he practiced some before we actually left Miami a couple of days and he hasn’t really missed anything since he’s been here.”

Following practice, the team took a trip to Disneyland where they were introduced with the Cornhuskers and took part in a mock Who Wants to be a Millionaire? game.
