No. 13 Men's Tennis Downs UAB, 5-2

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The No. 13-ranked Miami men’s tennis team downed Alabama Birmingham 5-2 Saturday afternoon in Mobile, Ala.
The Hurricanes improve to 16-3 on the season, while the Blazers fall to 5-8 overall.
Miami jumped out early with wins at all three doubles. No. 45 Peter Hoffman and Tomas Smid defeated Tom Dalby and Rusty Walker 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. Michael Lang teamed up with Jose Lieberman to edge Alex Jung and Andre van der Merwe 9-7 at the No. 2 spot and Andrew Golub and Tarik El Bassouni beat Sanzaruz Zaman and Alan Ambrose 8-6 on court No. 3.
No. 70 Lang beat van der Merwe in three sets 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
Hoffman, Lieberman and Golub downed their opponents in straight sets at No. 4, 5 and 6 singles en route to the 5-2 victory.
Miami will host No. 38 Rice Saturday at 11 a.m. in its final match of the season.
