Men's Hoops Invites Community through NCAA'S TAKG Program

Area youngsters will have the opportunity to come out to the Miami Arena to experience a college basketball game when the University of Miami participates in the NCAA men’s basketball ‘Take a Kid to the Game’ program.
Youth, ages 13 and younger, will receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket to watch the Hurricanes take on the Villanova Wildcats in their final regular season game at noon on Saturday, March 3.
This one-of-a-kind initiative will be promoted at more than 500 men’s and women’s collegiate basketball games across the country during the 2000-01 season. The NCAA men’s basketball ‘Take a Kid to the Game’ program is entering its third year.
“The University of Miami is excited to be able to take part in the NCAA basketball Take a Kid to the Game program,” said Carla Fournier, Community Relations Coordinator at Miami. The Hurricanes want young children to experience what it is like to participate in college athletics.”
Tickets for this special game on March 3rd, may be purchased at the Miami Arena Box Office on gameday ONLY.
