No. 44 Women's Tennis Downs Boston College, 6-1

CORAL GABLES, Fla.– The No. 44 ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team improved to 4-1 on the season with a 6-1 victory over Boston College (2-1) Thursday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The Hurricanes opened the match by winning the doubles point.

Siehem Bennacer and Bettina Hafner won at No. three doubles clinching the doubles point, with an 8-5 victory over Emily Hellberg and Anisha Fernando. Marcy Hora and Alanna Broderick teamed up for an 8-3 victory over Alison Ashley and Ruta Veitas at No. two doubles.

The Hurricanes went on to pick up wins at five of the six singles matches to clinch the win over the Eagles.

The Miami women’s tennis team returns to action Saturday when it hosts South Florida at 10 a.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
