No. 20 Men's Tennis Edges No. 42 Tulane, 4-3

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The No. 20 ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team defeated No. 42 Tulane University Sunday afternoon at Goldring Tennis Complex.
The Hurricanes improve to 3-0 on the season, while the Greenwave fall to 2-2.
Tulane managed to win the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 flights. However, with the score tied at 3-3 with one match to go, the Wave could not edge the Hurricanes.
Johan Lindqvist (Kil, Sweden) defeated Jorge Lievano at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 7-6 (8), while Jose Lieberman (Los Angeles, Ca.) picked up a win at No. 5 singles, downing Mattias Westerberg, 6-0, 6-1. Andrew Golub (Miami, Fla.) defeated Derya Rose, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
The final match at No. 2 singles pitted Michael Lang (Sarasota, Fla.) against Victor Romero. After dropping the first set, 6-0, Romero rallied for a 6-4 win in set two. However, Lang prevailed, winning the decisive set, 6-2, giving the Hurricanes the 4-3 victory.
Lang and Lieberman teamed up to defeat Westerberg and Rose, 8-3 in the lone doubles win for UM.
The Hurricanes are back in action Friday at 6 p.m. as they play host to Wisconsin at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
