University Of Miami Takes On State Rival Florida

Coral Gables, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s (1-3) and women’s (3-4) swimming and diving teams take on the University of Florida’s men’s (6-4) and women’s (8-2) swimming and diving teams in a dual meet on Saturday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Whitten Student Union Pool. The Gator women are ranked No.7 by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) while the men come in at No.10. Admission is free.
All-American diver Jenny Keim returns to action in her first meet of the season since competing in the 2000 Summer Olympic games in Sydney, where she finished eighth in the 3-meter springboard and fifth in the synchronized 10-meter platform.
In the Hurricanes spring season home opener on January 5, the men’s team was defeated by Clemson 143-61. The women’s team also fell to Clemson 164.5-56.5 as well as Penn State 128-66 in a tri-meet.
The Florida women edged the No. 8 University of Texas, 152-148, in its season-opener, while the men defeated TCU, 128-100.
