Q&A with Freshman Offensive Lineman Chris Myers

Aug. 23, 2000

Who in your family do you idolize?
I idolize my mom, Bridgid. She took care of the family and raised us well. She taught us all the right things.

What player did you pretend to be as a kid?
I used to pretend to be my uncle, Dennis Kelleher. He played at Miami from 1985-89. I look up to him as an older brother.

Who do you think is the best player ever at your position?
I am not quite sure about the history of offensive lineman, but I think (Jacksonville Jaguars’) Tony Boselli would stack up with the best.

What do you think was the greatest sports moment of the past century?
I have a hard time thinking of just one. The last greatest moment I could remember was Michael Jordan’s last shot (against Utah).

What do you like to watch on television?
We do not get much time to watch TV these days. So when I do, anything that is on will do just fine.

What type of movies do you like to go see?
I like the scary movies. Like Scream.

Some people would be surprised to learn this about you?
I don’t fit that awful football player stereotype. I am actually a pretty nice person off the field.

If you could be Head Coach for the day, what would you do?
I would probably agree to letting them have a vacation.
