Miami Women's Soccer Ranked Seventh In Preseason Poll

CORAL GABLES, FL-The University of Miami woman’s soccer team is No. 7 in the Soccer Buzz Magazine Southeast Region top 10 preseason poll, released Monday. The ranking is the highest regional mark the Hurricanes have ever received.

North Carolina, the defending NCAA National Champion, tops the poll, followed by Florida, Clemson, Wake Forest and Duke.

Miami, which posted a 12-8-0 record last season, will open up the 2000 campaign against 1998 National Champion Florida on August 27 at Cobb Stadium on the UM campus. Florida, which ranks No. 7 in the Soccer Buzz Magazine top 25 preseason poll, is one of the three ranked opponents the Hurricanes will face this season. The Hurricanes will take on No. 20 Boston College on Sept. 17, and travel to No. 6 Connecticut on Sept. 24.
