Hurricane Runners Travel To Jacksonville
Sept. 21, 2000
Coral Gables, FL – The University of Miami men’s and women’s cross country teams look to continue their impressive starts this season at the Jacksonville Invitational on Friday, September 22 at District II Regional Park in Jacksonville, FL.
The women’s race is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. with the men’s race starting at approximately 6:00 p.m.
The Hurricanes are coming off of strong showings at the UCF Invitational on September 8 and FIU Invitational on September 15 and have been led this season by senior Shannon Sarabyn (Centreville, VA) and junior Jeff Gaulrapp (Baldwinsville, NY).
Sarabyn, Miami’s top finisher five of six races last season, has finished first at both competitions this season and has six individual titles to her credit. Her winning time of 17:59 at the UCF Invitational established a new course record.
Gaulrapp, one of two returning runners from last season, has won both events this season in leading the Hurricanes to a third-place finish at the UCF Invitational and a second-place finish at the FIU Invitational.
