Dwight Freeman Named Interim Coach

Coral Gables, FL – University of Miami Athletic Director Paul Dee has appointed Dwight Freeman as interim head basketball coach while the University undergoes its search for a replacement for Leonard Hamilton.

Hamilton left the University of Miami on Wednesday to accept the head coaching duties with the National Basketball Association’s Washington Wizards.

Freeman (40), who worked as an assistant under Hamilton since 1995, is the senior member of the Hurricanes’ coaching staff.
