Women's Crew Travel To Central Region Championships

Coral Gables, FL – The University of Miami will travel two varsity eights and a novice eight to Oak Ridge, TN for the 2000 Lexus Central Sprints on Melton Hill Lake, Saturday, May 15.
Sixteen teams, including Miami, from around the Central Region will converge on the 2,000-meter course for the 2000 Lexus Cup and an automatic entry into the NCAA Championship.
Along with the Hurricanes, other schools in the Central Region are Central Florida, Clemson, Creighton, Duke, Iowa, Jacksonville, Kansas State, Michigan, Michigan State, Murray State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas.
Competing for the Hurricanes in the varsity eight is coxswain Meg Venezia and rowers Michele McVeagh, Cathy Dunnet, Monika Manios, Amanda Turner, Julie Bender, Liz Payer, Britta Chambers and Megan McGrath.
Also competing for the Hurricanes are Amy Zwettler, Abby Dwyer, Dorothy Clay, Nita Rench, Jessica Dunne, Erika Berdelao, Maggie Knuth, Ansley McGarity, Sira Trujillo and Marianna Garcez.
The UM second varsity eight consists of coxswain Jenny Lee and rowers Kristi Killingsworth, Lindsey Tarabula, Marijka VanderPol, Kate Weeden, Lavonne Tarafa, Angie Hargot, Bernadette Lack and Yianna Reizakis.
