Myrick Sets School Record In 100-Meters

AUSTIN, Tex. – Miami junior Wyllesheia Myrick (Miami Northwestern) seta new school record in the 100-meters with time of 11.45 at the 73rd ClydeLittlefield Texas Relays in Austin, TX.
Myrick, who finished fifth, broke the old mark of 11.47 set byfive-time NCAA Champion Gillian Russell in 1993. Myrick’s time provisionallyqualifies her for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May31-June 3, in Durham, NC.
Over the weekend Miami set a total of three school records asAdrienne Moss (shot put) and the 4×800-meter relay established new Hurricanebests.
In the triple jump final, UM All-American Kareen Clarke (Lithonic,GA) finished fifth with a leap of 12.70 meters (41-08.00). Clarke, who hasalready automatically qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships,currently ranks second in the nation in the event.
Miami’s 4×400-meter relay finished sixth in a time of 3:38.35. Therelay of sophomore Jenise Winston (League City, TX), freshman SaraqueWhittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas), junior All-American NatalieWatson (Coral Springs) and Wyllesheia Myrick currently ranks fifth in thenation.
