Dodds Finishes Second At Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior Danika Dodds (Coral Gables) took second in theInvitational Women’s 800-meters (2:07.46) to highlight the final day ofcompetition at the 57th Annual Coca-Cola Florida Relays in Gainesville, FL.
Overall the Hurricanes had six student-athletes record top-10 finishesincluding All-Americans Caldreuis Lesley (Anderson, SC) and Natalie Watson(Coral Springs). Lesley finished fifth in the men’s 110-meter hurdles (14.15)while Watson took ninth in the women’s 1,500-meters (4:34.32).
In the women’s 400-meters, freshman Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale St.Thomas Aquinas) took seventh with a time of 54.35. The time ranks as thethird fastest in Miami history and was just 15 tenths of a second off the UMrecord.
Miami also did well in the 400-meter hurdles with freshman Jamilla Wade(Philadelphia, PA) finishing fourth (1:00.19) and junior Rashiela Ruddocktaking seventh (1:03.65).
The Hurricanes return to action on Saturday, April 1 when they host theMiami Gatorade Invitational at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables.
