Hurricanes Blow Away Competition

CORAL GABLES, FL – The 20th-ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team (13-3) defeated visiting Ohio State, 7-0, and Cornell, 6-1.
The Hurricanes won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches against the Buckeyes (6-6), while taking five of six singles matches and all three doubles matches against the Big Red (9-3).
Against Ohio State, Miami received singles victories from Tomas Smid, Peter Hoffman, Johan Lindqvist, Michael Lang, Jose Lieberman, and Joel Berman. The `Canes received doubles victories from the teams of Smid/Hoffman, Lieberman/Lang and Berman/Arrowsmith.
Against Cornell, the Hurricanes received singles victories from Lindqvist, Lang, Lieberman, Berman, and Arpad Odry. The doubles teams of Smid/Hoffman, Lieberman/Lang and Berman/Arrowsmith all recorded victories.
Miami returns to action on Sunday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. against Brown University at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on the Coral Gables Campus. The `Canes also take on Central Florida at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
