Women's Hoops Host Syracuse

CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami women’s basketball team (11-14, 5-9 BIG EAST) will host Syracuse (10-15, 3-11 BIG EAST) on Saturday, February 26 at the Knight Sports Complex on the Coral Gables campus. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

This is the 17th meeting between the two schools. Miami holds a 12-4 advantage in the series. UM defeated the Orangewomen, 68-52, in Coral Gables last season.

The Hurricanes return home to host the last two games of the regular season after going winless on a two-game road swing. UM fell to host Georgetown (66-61) on Saturday. The Hurricanes led for most of the game before falling behind with just under four minutes to go in the contest. The Hoyas outscored Miami 31-19 in the second half and held them scoreless for the final 3:18 of the game. Gina Graziani led Miami with 18 points and eight assists.

The ‘Canes were unable to upend No. 5 Notre Dame in South Bend on Tuesday. The Irish handed UM an 83-68 loss led by Ruth Riley’s 36 points.

Miami is led by Sheila James (12.1 ppg., 4.4 rpg.) and Alicia Hartlaub (10.6 ppg., 6.6 rpg.)
