Miami Heads to Bulldog Invitational

CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams head to Athens, GA to compete in the Bulldog Invitational on February 25 and 26, where they will face some of the nation’s top competition.

The women will face No. 1-ranked Georgia, as well as No. 10 Florida, No. 20 Tennessee and Emory University. The men will take on No. 8-ranked Georgia, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 13 Florida and Emory University.

This year’s women’s squad has been led by junior All-American and 2000 Big East Diver of the Year Jenny Keim (Ft. Lauderdale, FL), All-American Amy Lindblom (Milford, CT), senior NCAA qualifier Julie Kemp (Potomac, MD), junior Big East 200-yard individual medley record holder Jen Weir (Cooper City, FL), freshman Elaine Schwartz (Mt. Laurel, NJ), and freshman diver Katie Beth Bryant (Chatham, IL).

The men’s side is led by senior All-American Tyce Routson (Provo, UT), junior Daniel Asencio (Newark, NJ), sophomore Big East Diver of the Year Imre Lengyel (Budapest, Hungary), sophomore Scott Gentles (Atlanta, GA), and freshman Big East three-meter diving champ Kyle Prandi (Strongsville, OH).

The Hurricane women are coming off a third-place finish in the 2000 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships, while the men finished in sixth.
