UM Women Take On No. 1 UConn

The University of Miami women’s basketball team (9-11, 3-6 BIG EAST) travels to Storrs, CT to take on the top-ranked Huskies on Tuesday, February 8 at Gampell Pavillion. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
This game marks the 18th meeting between the two schools. UConn holds a 12-5 advantage, winning 12 straight dating back to the 1993-94 season. The Huskies defeated the Hurricanes 84-36 on January 29 in Miami. The point deficit tied a UM record for worst home loss. The first defeat came against Auburn (96-48) on December 29, 1987.
The Hurricanes snapped a five-game BIG EAST skid on Saturday with a 70-50 win over West Virginia. Rookie Alicia Hartlaub recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Camilla Osth followed with a career-high 18 points.
The Huskies are led by Shea Ralph (15.6 ppg., 5.0 rpg.) and Svetlana Abrosimova (13.0 ppg., 6.8 rpg.).
