CORAL GABLES, FL – The University of Miami women’s basketball team (8-6, 2-1 BIG EAST) held Seton Hall ( 6-8, 0-4 BIG EAST) to 30 percent shooting en route to a 64-60 victory on Sunday at the Knights Sports Complex.
Despite scoring only four points in the first 10 minutes of the game and trailing for the majority of the first half, UM went on a 23-13 run to end the half and take a 28-23 advantage into intermission. The ‘Canes maintained the lead to open the half until the Pirates tied the game, 51-51, just under the six minute mark. A made jumper by junior Camilla Osth gave UM the lead for good just seconds later.
Freshman Alicia Hartlaub recorded her second consecutive BIG EAST double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. She was joined in double-figure scoring by Gina Graziani (12) and Kathryn Fowler (11).
Seton Hall’s Starr Fuller had a career day with 22 points and 19 rebounds. Arminda Moreno chipped in with 11 markers.
UM continues its three-game homestand on Wednesday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m., hosting BIG EAST foe Georgetown.
