Hurricanes' Papuga Named BIG EAST Rookie Of The Week

PROVIDENCE, RI – University of Miami freshman Amanda Papuga (Oak Brook, IL)was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for her performance vs. Furman onSunday.

In UM’s 1999-2000 home-opener against the Lady Paladins, Papugahelped the Hurricanes to a 88-46 win, shooting 9-of-12 from the field for 19points. She also recorded a team-high six assists along with two steals in21 minutes of action.

The Hurricanes return to action on Wednesday, November 24 at 7:30p.m. when they host Eastern Kentucky at the Knights Sports Complex on theCoral Gables campus.
