Women's Crew Completes Fall Racing Season at Rivanna Romp

Coral Gables, FL – The University of Miami varsity women’s crew will close out the fall racing season at the 2nd Annual Rivanna Romp, hosted by the University of Virginia, on Sunday, November 14 at the Rivanna Reservoir near the Thomas Temple Allen Boathouse in Charlottesville, VA.

Miami will bring two Championship Eight and two Championship Four entries to compete against teams from Virginia, Clemson, Duke, Georgetown, North Carolina and Ohio State.

The varsity women, led by coxswain Jenny Lee, Marijka VanderPol, Britta Chambers, Marleen Meijeringh, Amanda Turner, Cathy Dunnet, Elizabeth Payer, Megan McGrath and Michele McVeagh, are coming off a Gold Medal performance in the Eight and Four races at the Head of the Chattahoochee Regatta in Gainesville, GA last weekend.

The Rivanna Romp is scheduled to begin with the varsity eight competition at 11:00 a.m. followed by the novice eight competition at noon, and the varsity four and pairs at 1:00 p.m.
