Hurricane Aisha Chow Named To Collegiate Honor Roll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Former University of Miami rower Aisha Chow was named toUSRowing’s 1999 Collegiate Honor Roll First Team for the second consecutiveseason. Chow, from Marival, Trinidad, was once again among the top eightfemale student-athletes to be selected for the award.
The USRowing Collegiate Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who haveexcelled in both academics and rowing, as well as participated inextra-curricular activities.
Chow’s junior and senior seasons at Miami were nearly identical as far asacademic accolades were concerned. She was named to GTE’s National andDistrict III Academic All-American First Teams following stellar seasonsbehind the UM oar. In addition, Black Issues in Higher Education magazinerecognized Chow as an Arthur Ashe Jr. Scholar-Athlete award winner for the1998-99 school year.
Chow earned a 3.96 in Microbiology and Immunology while leading the ‘Canesto the state and regional championships at the Florida and SouthernIntercollegiate Rowing Association Regattas, respectively, in 1999.
